Our Adoption Process

Apply

Complete and submit an adoption application. After reviewing your application, a team member will contact you for an interview to learn more about your home, lifestyle, children, adults, and other pets — so we can help identify the best possible match.

Match

Once approved, we'll work with you to match you with the animal you applied for — or another who may be an even better fit. Because our animals are often adopted quickly, the specific animal you apply for may no longer be available by the time the process is complete. We recommend following us on social media for the most up-to-date information on incoming and available animals.

Meet & Greet

If the meet and greet goes well, you can take your new animal home! You'll receive a link to pay the adoption fee, along with your animal's medical records and instructions for updating microchip registration (dogs).

Adoption FAQs

Adoption fees typically range from $300–$1,200, depending on age, breed, and medical needs upon arrival.
Your adoption fee helps cover lifesaving care. Animals are spayed or neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped (dogs), and receive a veterinary wellness exam (unless they are puppies).
Yes. Puppies are available for adoption after receiving their second round of puppy vaccines and are microchipped. A spay/neuter agreement is required.
If your circumstances change, Whiskers Are We will always take back your adopted animal. Adoption contracts prohibit selling, trading, or rehoming the animal independently.
